             abstract = "Significant advances in understanding the tectonic stratigraphic
                         evolution of the central - southern region in the Rond{\^o}nia
                         State were acquired by using the following: 1- spaceborne optical
                         (Landsat TM) imagery; 2- aerial side looking radar (GEMS) imagery;
                         3- digital integrated products Landsat TM/aerial gammaspectrometry
                         and; 4- field work along previous selected profiles. This region
                         is part of an Intraplate Strike Slip Belt with
                         Paleo/Neoproterozoic ages, characterised by three ductile and
                         brittle transpression phases, locally transtensive, and extensive
                         reactivations with pulses at the end of the Proterozoic and
                         beginning of the Paleozoic, at the Mesozoic and the Tertiary. The
                         area is well known due to its mineral potential specially Sn ore.
                         From the tectonic - stratigraphic viewpoint the region is
                         problematic due to several drawbacks such as physiographic
                         complexity, high contrast between tropical rainforest and
                         intensive land use and large areas without outcrop. The objectives
                         of this work were: 1- to show methodological criteria to obtain
                         geological information by using remote sensing imageries and
                         integrated products Landsat TM/aerial gammaspectrometry and; 2- to
                         show the Tectonic -Stratigraphic Map of the studied area.",
